July 2013

This month is a month of vacations for me so not as much is happening over at Little Leona.  Last week our family went to Shasta Lake and stayed with our friends on their houseboat.  You can read about it at 7girls3boys. Next week, Tom and I get to help our friend celebrate his 50th birthday.  We will be enjoying the sun and white sand beaches.  I may not even think about work for a whole week.  But I will post pics so check out my intagram if you feel so inclined. The link is right over there on the right.

Last month I wrote about a sewing challenge that I entered at my school.  I finished the romper for Claire and I just loved how it turned out.

I actually used the inside of the shirt for the self fabric or rightside of the romper.  I liked the faded look for a little girls outfit better than the darker brown and black.  I used a cotton quilting fabric to line the cuffs, pockets and top facing. This pattern will also be offered for sale at the Little Leona store.  A few more revisions need to be made and the pattern will be ready to go off to the grader.  I am writing the instructions now and find that part of the pattern making process the most challenging for me.  I will willingly accept constuctive advise on writing instructions if anyone is willing to help me out.  🙂

Hope you all are enjoying your summer so far.  See you in August.
