Flower DIY

Flower DIY

A few years back I posted a DIY flower tutorial on my family blog.  I want to share it again here.  I love these imperfect flowers, they are so easy to make and can be used for all types of fun things.  Click here to see the instructions.

You can add them to ribbon and tie them to a mason jar or vase.  They can be added to a present or even a skirt.  I made a few and put them this dress that will be part of my pattern line.

Happy September!

May News

Hello!

Well, last month flew by.  Just like every other month… and year.  Trying to take joy in the litte things of everyday life while moving forward with great excitement for future dreams is a delicate balancing act.  I can easily get caught up in my goals and forget why I am doing any of this.  My family is the most important thing in my life.  You can check out my family blog to see the “why” behind my ambition.

Claire Baby turned 1 at the beginning of May.  So like her older sister, she needed a custom, home made dress to celebrate her first year.  Claire’s party was confetti themed, and her dress followed suit.  The confetti dress pattern will be available later this year.  This was a sweet little A-line dress with front pleats made from a cotton voile.  Her  polk-a-dot bloomers brought in the confetti theme.  You can see more about this cute party over at my daughters blog www.10baretoes.com.

Last month I talked about the Peek-a-Boo Dress that will be coming out soon.  Here is a sneak peek at another little animal.  I have been experimenting with different stitching options and  I really like the hand embroidery on this guy.  I am so excited to get this pattern finished up.

Until next month, remember to take time to notice the little joys in life and I will too.

April News from Little Leona

Hi Friends,

Well, it is time to get official over here at Little Leona.

I will be giving monthly updates to keep you posted on the progress of my patterns as they start rolling out.  The first pattern in my line is called the peek-a-boo dress.  I made a version of it for the girls for Easter.

My inspiration came from some easter dresses my mom made for my sister and me when we were the same ages as Chloe and Claire.  I am sentamental and wanted  these little sweetie pies to have similar dresses.  While my line of patterns will mostly have a more modern flair, my old fashioned roots took over for this first dress.

The pattern will come with the bunny applique as well as a few other peek-a-boo animals and can be made with or without the animals and pocket.  Stay tuned for pictures of other versions as I finish up the instructions, grading and digitizing.
